Terms of Service
Last updated November 3, 2026
The short version: be at least 18, only cast faces you have permission to use, and credit directors. Directors own their scenes and earn 20% of every paid recast. Credits never expire, and failed renders are refunded.
01The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Kinoscuro (“we”, “us”) for using kinoscuro.suprematic.ai and its services (“Kinoscuro”). By creating an account or using Kinoscuro you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use Kinoscuro.
02Your account
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
- One person per account. You sign in with Google or a one-time email link, so keep access to that email secure. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your handle, name, bio and picture are public. Don’t impersonate anyone.
03Credits, plans and payments
- Credits pay for videos: 1 credit per second of finished video, 10 credits minimum. New accounts can unlock 10 free credits by verifying a card once; nothing is charged.
- Free credits are one per person. We use Stripe’s card check, a device identifier and other signals to spot repeat accounts, and may refuse, hold for review or remove free credits that break this rule.
- Plans (Plus $49.99/month, Pro $89.99/month) renew automatically each month, or each year at 15% off, until you cancel. Yearly plans add all twelve months of credits at once.
- Credit packs (1,000 credits for $119.99) are one-time purchases.
- Credits don’t expire while your account is open. They have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and aren’t refundable, except where the law says otherwise.
- Failed renders are refunded in credits automatically.
- Cancel or change your plan any time in Plan & credits → Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the credits you have.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes are added where they apply. If we change a plan’s price, we’ll tell you before your next renewal at the new price.
04Characters and likeness
Characters are the faces you cast. Because they can look like real people, these rules are strict:
- Upload photos or videos only of yourself, or of someone who has given you clear permission to make videos of them. You confirm this for every real-person character, and you must be able to show that permission if we ask.
- Never upload anyone under 18.
- Don’t create characters of public figures or celebrities, and don’t design an “Original” character to imitate a real person.
- We may remove a character, its videos and the account behind it if we believe these rules were broken. To report misuse of your likeness, use Contact; we review these reports first.
05Scenes and scripts
- You own your scenes and their scripts. By publishing a scene, you give Kinoscuro a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, show, promote and feature it, and to generate videos from it when people recast it.
- You also give other users a license to recast it, meaning to make videos from it with their own characters, and to post those videos as described below.
- Shot text is private. People see a scene’s video, title, hook, shot layout and timing. Only you and our curators can read the written shots; recasts use them without showing them.
- You can only publish scenes you have the right to publish. Don’t copy other people’s work.
06Royalties
- Royalties are paid in Kinoscuro credits. Each successful recast of your scene earns you 20% of the credits it cost. Fractions build up and are added as whole credits as soon as the recast is ready.
- Royalty credits work like any other credits: they never expire, have no cash value and can’t be transferred or sold.
- Recasts by people who have only ever used free credits, and recasts of your own scenes, earn nothing.
- Royalties earned in money before November 3, 2026 and not yet paid out were converted to credits at 10 cents per credit.
- Scripts published as remixes before November 3, 2026 now pay their own director the full royalty. Earnings made before then don’t change.
- We may change royalty rates for future recasts, or offer cash payouts, with notice. Royalties you’ve already earned don’t change.
07Royalty misuse
- We may hold or remove royalty credits tied to refunds, chargebacks, fraud, fake accounts or recasts made only to generate royalties.
08Videos you make
- You may download your recasts and post them, including on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
- When you post, credit the director (the copied caption does this) and turn on the platform’s AI-generated content label.
- You’re responsible for where and how you post your videos and for following each platform’s rules.
- Videos are made by an AI model and can contain mistakes or unexpected details. Check them before you post.
- We keep a copy so you can watch and download it. Your own render of a scene becomes its cover video.
09What’s not allowed
Don’t use Kinoscuro to create, upload or share:
- sexual content, or any content involving minors;
- harassment, bullying, hate, or threats;
- graphic violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
- deceptive videos meant to pass as real footage of real events or people;
- content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
- spam, or attempts to game recasts or royalties.
Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or get around its limits. The video model provider may also refuse requests under its own rules.
10Curation
Curators decide which scenes are featured on Discover. Featuring is our editorial choice, and we can add or remove it at any time. Scenes that aren’t featured stay on your profile, where your followers can still recast them.
11Suspension and closing your account
- You can stop using Kinoscuro at any time and ask us to delete your account through Contact.
- We may suspend or close accounts, remove content, or withhold credits and earnings for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or where the law requires it.
- If we shut Kinoscuro down, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice and pay out eligible earnings.
12Disclaimers and liability
Kinoscuro is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will always be available or error-free, or that a given video will turn out as you expect. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by law.
You agree to cover our losses from claims caused by content you upload or post, or by your breach of these terms.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes we’ll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using Kinoscuro after that, the new terms apply.
